World Toilet Day - Best Joke
The winning gag from Water Aid's 'World Toilet Day - It's No Joke' competition.
Today (Wednesday 19th November) is World Toilet Day. Bec Hill has been crowned the winner of the nation's favourite loo-based joke in a competition run by Water Aid.
As can be seen in the video above, the winning gag is: "For Christmas last year I got given Sudoku toilet paper. It's useless. You can only fill it in with number ones and number twos."
The national competition - which involved comedians including Milton Jones, Lucy Porter, Arthur Smith, Tim Key and Alex Horne - saw the public vote for their favourite toilet jokes online. With a fluctuating leader board, 15 comedians battled it out over 15 days to be crowned the ultimate 'wee one-liner'. Comedian Matt Forde came a close second, with the 'bard of Salford' John Cooper Clarke a respectable third.

The charity says: "Britain is known for its love of toilet humour. But for many millions of people around the world toilets are no laughing matter. A shocking 2.5 billion people - one in three of the world's population - do not have access to a safe, private toilet. Many have no choice but to face the indignity of going to the toilet in the open, where they are exposed to disease and vulnerable to harassment and even attack. This is a serious issue that can be hard to talk about - so let's overcome our embarrassment and use comedy to get the nation talking about toilets."
