Zapped review: hard to find any evidence it's a comedy

This is an amiable show, but its bunch of magical losers will have you wanting to leave their parallel universe and head home.

Tim Dowling, The Guardian, 14th October 2016

Zapped episode 1 review

Zapped wouldn't be the first sitcom that failed to convince everyone on its first outing. I warmed to it more on a second watch so with time spent in Munty getting to know these characters, we could well learn to enjoy them. Love them like we love Lister or Rincewind though? My soothsayer rune says not likely.

Zapped: visiting the set of Dave's fantasy comedy

Back in June, a small gaggle of journalists and I were ensconced for a few hours within the shadowy bowels of Pinewood. We were ushered onto a soundstage between takes, inside a ginormous warehouse-like studio. We were there to catch a glimpse of Zapped, a new sci-fi/fantasy comedy series that had recently been announced by Dave.

Zapped joins the strange trend of TV doppelgangers

Dave's new fantasy comedy bears a striking resemblance to another recent Inbetweener-starring series - and it's the latest in a long line of similar ideas turning up in different projects.

Preview: Zapped

Riding on the wave of Red Dwarf, Dave has moved from sci-fi to fantasy with their latest original work.

Ian Wolf, On The Box, 13th October 2016

Zapped review

After finding success with the revival of Red Dwarf, the Dave channel has now turned to another cult genre to find its next comedy hit: fantasy. And the signs from the first episode of Zapped are pretty encouraging.
