Further details

The capital is being terrorised by a mysterious killer who takes the guise of the 'Brick Man' - a mythical figure from London folklore. Legend has it that every Brick Night, the Brick Man comes out of the brick walls, with a brick face and a brick suit - and if you don't believe in him, he stabs you repeatedly in the neck with his brick knife. It's just a bit of fun for the kids - like Guy Fawkes - except this time, it's real, and people are dying.

Rabbit and Strauss are on the case, and even though she hasn't persuaded her father to give her an actual police badge yet, Mabel is joining them. Their search leads them straight into the cavernous underground world of the London sewers, a world run by 'toshers' - people who rifle through sh*t looking for things to sell. But is the killer really a spirit from the other world, the Brick World - or is it a deranged serial killer with a more worldly agenda?

Meanwhile, Tanner takes a hit that was meant for Rabbit and takes it badly, while Lydia emerges from the shadows with designs on Mabel.

Press

DI Rabbit is at his rascally best as Andy Riley and Kevin Cecil's riotous Victorian police spoof finds him on the trail of a killer known as the Brick Man. At last we learn more about Keeley Hawes's mysterious character, who steps out of the shadows long enough to lure would-be "ladyfilth" Mabel into her orbit.
