Yanks Go Home

Belly laughs are few and far between, as illustrated by the relatively quiet nature of the studio audience throughout. The shrieking women who used to crop up in the crowds of so many 1970's studio sitcoms are conspicuous by their absence here. At times the main characters come across as being slightly underwritten, and despite it being a comedy there isn't ever really any sense of genuine threat - even the old boys of Dad's Army had to contend with a group of captured Germans on one occasion.
