Ird is painting a picture of her tree. Wussywat tries to join in, but he ends up mixing up the paints! Duckadile enters and has a go at some squirty watercolours, but Wussywat forces him to splurge on Ird's painting instead.
Ird likes the splodgy new look, but Wussywat doesn't understand as he thinks a painting should look like something. Ortus says it doesn't matter and shows Wussywat how to make patterns. When Wussywat knocks over the paint to make footprints, he has the idea to make patterns by walking on the canvas. What a clever cat!
