Key details
A sitcom project for E4 starring Kieran Boyd, Mark Cooper-Jones and Naz Osmanoglu - aka WitTank.
The School follows the goings-on in an out-of-touch Public School, Bounders for Boys, that nobly clings to old-fashioned values in the face of reason. Bounders is a school that proudly churns out the tax-evaders, corrupt judges and sleazy politicians of the future.
The establishment is run by a drunken Headmaster who tries to hold it together in spite of his domineering mother and his short fuse. He runs the school with the help of the pompous Mr Jones, whose incompetence and crippling fear of women make him effectively useless. Their lives are thrown upside down with the arrival of a new teacher from the outside world, Mr Potter, who has brought unacceptable novelties into The School like a manbag, lesson plans and compassion. The Headmaster must attack this threat head-on and preserve the most important thing in the world: Tradition.
On Saturday 14th March there will be a special preview screening and laugh-track recording at The Hugh & Catherine Stevenson Lecture Theatre at the British Museum. Before the screening, WitTank will be performing some of their most loved sketches from their Edinburgh shows, live in the theatre.
An Avalon Television production. Commissioned by Phil Clarke. The Executive Producers are Richard Allen-Turner and Jon Thoday. The show will be co-written with fellow comic Dan Atkinson.
