Scott and Cozzo force Joey to join a gambling addicts' group for his own good and for the good of the business. It backfires somewhat when Joey foolishly 'opens up' to his new sponsor, Phillip who in turn begins to blackmail Joey and the others.

Cozzo, fearing he'll die and leave his new baby fatherless, decides to go on a health kick, while Scott, in a desperate move to get Julia back, claims he's struggling with an addiction of his own: sex addiction. She almost believes him.

Meanwhile, the group's morality is challenged when they are asked to assist the suicide of someone close to their own age - a girl with recurring and terminal cancer, Amanda.
