British Comedy Guide, 21st January 2019Given that the first two series of their comedy extravaganza ran to seven episodes apiece, is it wrong to feel shortchanged as Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer's four-show run reaches its conclusion? Really, we should be grateful for every surreal minute we get to spend in their company. Here, they open with a skit on vehicle maintenance among the celebrity community, surprise us with an "up-to-date dance project" and save the best for last when the Man with the Stick returns from the future in all his silvery splendour.
Mike Bradley, The Guardian, 19th December 2018Vic & Bob's Big Night Out: review
It's taken Bob 30 years to get his name alongside Vic's on the Big Night Out but now, as a cult hero in his own right, he not only deserves equal billing but an equal share of the credit.
Telly Binge, 7th December 2018Whatever Vic and Bob have lost in manic energy, they have gained in warmth. It is charming that this pair of schoolboy surrealists still take such infectious delight in making each other laugh. Tonight, a sneak preview of Vic's Royal Variety turn and the return of sinister folk duo Mulligan and O'Hare.
Phil Harrison, The Guardian, 5th December 2018TV review: Vic & Bob's Big Night Out, BBC4, episode 2
It's great that this new Vic and Bob series has had such fantastic reviews.
Bruce Dessau, Beyond The Joke, 5th December 2018Vic & Bob's Big Night Out review
Don't analyse, just marvel as it takes flight.
Lucy Mangan, The Guardian, 5th December 2018Vic and Bob's Big Night Out review
Bags of soil, corned beef, and a talent show judged by Jeff Goldblum's ironing board had top billing as the chaotic variety show returned.
Sarah Carson, i Newspaper, 29th November 2018Vic and Bob's Big Night Out review
It opens with a song which just happens to be one of the greatest they've ever done, as they insult a couple eating a meal and which includes the lines "Shut up, shut up and just stop talking shit".
Alex Finch, Comedy To Watch, 29th November 2018Reeves and Mortimer reprise their cult variety show parody with the first in a four-part series. Random questions - "How high is your cat?" - and a song-and-dance routine designed to sabotage romantic dinners are great, but top of the pile is "Britain's only gay man" and his pet owl on Novelty Island.
