Further details
Firstly, Tudur discovers a maker of one of the ultimate romantic Welsh gifts, the love spoon. Usually the love spoon would be a manageable size, but in 1993 Ed Harrison, of Pontsiân built a 20 foot, 200 pound love spoon. Believed to be the largest love spoon in the world, any suitors would be expected to fork out the whopping £2100 asking price for the record-breaking spoon.
In 1973, a company from Merthyr Tydfil unveiled the latest relaxation innovation that was expected to take over the market. While the conventional saunas required special rooms in order to work, the sauna-baths are sauna-on-wheels and perfect for a single person to relax in private. The futuristic invention promised to be the next big thing but unfortunately never left the 1970s.
Carol Vorderman also returns to Flintshire to check out how Wales has become one of the top hubs in the world for aeronautical engineering. Some of the best aircraft parts are made in the Airbus Broughton plant in Flintshire including the A350 wings for one of the most advanced aircrafts in the world. Carol gets put to work building the wings, from transporting the incredibly expensive parts to deep-cleaning the fuel tanks.
