Money is tight and, unlikely to make the rent day this month, Matt pulls out his 'military hero' card to get an extension from estate agent Andrew. He's happy to oblige, providing Matt agrees to discuss military strategy with his warfare video game club.

Content in their new home and unable to move any time soon, Meg and Matt decide to do up the spare room, but choosing what colour to go for throws up a bigger, scarier question: should they opt for no-baby brown or baby-friendly yellow?

Meanwhile, everyone gets dolled up for Iain and Kate's engagement bash, where Meg is mistaken for Iain's fiancée. At the other end of the pub, Matt basks in the adoration poured on him by Andrew's friends, until, that is, the arrival of a genuine soldier threatens to unravel his tall tale.

Kate's condescending father aside, the party proves better for Iain. He feels like nothing can ruin their special night, only for some earth-shattering news to bring the celebrations to an abrupt end.
