With barely a customer in the aisles, Valco's shop floor is a ghost town and it looks like new rival supermarket Lauda's opening day is the cause. But never one to back down from a fight, and cheered on by Daniel, Gavin assembles a team of spies to infiltrate the competition and discover what Lauda has to offer.
When Cheryl Fairweather, Lauda's infamously ruthless store manager, later returns the visit bearing gifts for Gavin, it soon becomes clear he has a battle on his hands.
But life and business goes on at Valco as new staff member Heather begins her first day shelf stacking after her induction with HR manager Katie.
Meanwhile, Neville makes a big mistake when he seeks the questionable advice of Colin ahead of meeting Linda's parents.
