Channel 4 has confirmed it is in talks to bring back Dom Joly's hidden camera comedy format Trigger Happy TV.

Dom Joly is planning to return to Channel Four to make more instalments of his breakthrough show Trigger Happy TV. Speaking to promote his new autobiography Joly shied away from describing the landmark hit series as a prank show and said that he hoped that the new episodes would be more "filmic".

Comedian Dom Joly, best known for playing an obnoxious businessman on a giant mobile phone in 90s show Trigger Happy TV, has admitted he now uses the infamous prop as a toilet roll holder.

Now a travel writer, author and sometime spoofster, Joly also told BBC Breakfast what it was like to appear on jungle reality show I'm A Celebrity...Get me Out of Here! last year.

The broadcaster was speaking ahead of a 64-date stand-up UK tour, Welcome From Wherever I Am, which begins on 1 May at Richmond Theatre.

The format may at first glance appear to have been done before. Shows which involve us laughing at some punter pranking Joe Public are not unheard of. But Dom Joly, the star of Trigger Happy TV, manages to exploit this "genre", with an exquisite sense of humour.
