Toast of London review
Not as well done as it was, but Toast is still delicious.
Sam Wollaston, The Guardian, 19th November 2015Toast of London: series 3, episode 1 review
Toast of London should not work as a show or a comedy. The elements of the narrative float around each other in a suspension of almost implacable chaos. The characters jump wildly from one side of the sanity spectrum to the other. Costumes and props could be introduced or removed from the plot at any time without warning. But, somehow, it all works and it's refreshing, funny, and ludicrous.
Sam Polti, On The Box, 19th November 2015Toast of London Series 3 preview
In later episodes, as RadioTimes.com has previously revealed, we also meet Steven's Dad in the form of Brian Blessed and Toast gets a charisma lesson from Mad Men star Jon Hamm.
Ben Dowell, Radio Times, 18th November 2015Steven Toast leaves his usual voiceover recording with Clem Fandango and Danny Bear only to discover he's been replaced by a soundalike. But his troubles really begin when he tells a particular story about Kubrick on ITV's Lorraine while half-cut. Will his indiscretion derail his forthcoming role in "the Scottish play" at Regent's Park open air theatre? A splendid cast fleshes out the wonky Toast universe while Berry does his thing. But we've all seen his thing now. Could he, perhaps, give us a different thing?
Julia Raeside, The Guardian, 18th November 2015Why Toast of London is so funny
The misadventures of actor and would-be lothario Steven Toast return for a third series. And it is as uproariously absurd as ever.
Hannah J Davies, The Guardian, 18th November 2015Toast of London, Channel 4, review: 'surreal'
You know your quirky little comedy has become A Pretty Big Deal when Lorraine Kelly agrees to appear in it.
Isabel Mohan, The Telegraph, 18th November 2015Toast of London, TV review
Yes it's silly, childish and crude, but Matt Berry and co deserve to be celebrated.
Amy Burns, The Independent, 18th November 2015Toast of London: Matt Berry is as funny as ever
Judging from what we were shown at the screening I have a feeling that this might be the most accomplished series of Toast so far. With all the jokes hitting the right notes and the high level of respectable guest stars I do feel that Toast of London is fast becoming one of Channel 4's most reliable shows and I'll definitely be watching even if I can't always hear exactly what Clem Fandango is saying.
Matt, The Custard TV, 18th November 2015There's an actor, an actor of integrity, exalted and raised aloft by the muses, his art the theatrical ambrosia which surges through his arteries in haste, seeking the next divine project to shine a truth onto our existence.
But that's enough about Shia LaBoeuf allowing us to watch a livestream of Shia LaBoeuf watching all of Shia LaBoeuf's films, including the seminal Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. I want to talk about a man who's the hottest thing since a slice of freshly-toaster-popped warm bread: Toast. Steven Toast. Toast of London.
The caramel-throated thespian, the best in the country at acting in high winds, returns in the third series of the Bafta-winning comedy Toast of London. In this run Toast is invited to the Royal Variety Performance and also meets Jon Hamm off Mad Men, although his days of hearing Clem Fandango may be numbered as a new and cheaper voiceover artist muscles in on his work. Delirious, majestic oafery, where the joy drawn from the performances ensure repeat viewings.
