You know what they say, "an actor cannot truly call himself an actor until he's performed at the Globe". That, and never work with animals.

London is having the hottest weather since weather began, Ed's Australian nephew has come to stay, and the latest fad of 'Blue Spruce' furniture is spreading like wild fire.

When Toast begs Jane to get him in at the Globe Theatre, he's less than impressed with the director, Daz Klondyke, who's rumoured to be the hottest thing in UK theatre.

However when he's cast in Klondyke's all-dog version of Twelfth Night, it's not long before Toast gets his fingers burnt as he tries to become a real actor.

Global direction

Toast is prepared to be considered a 'proper' actor.

Featuring: Matt Berry (Steven Toast) & Doon Mackichan (Jane Plough).

Press

Due to what appears to be a somewhat glaring career omission, Matt Berry's wonderful Toast is humiliated by his bitterest rival, Ray Purchase, (Harry Peacock) at the Colonial club, after it emerges he's never trodden the boards at the Globe theatre. Handily, it has just recruited a new director, the young maverick Daz Klondyke, who recruits Toast for a radical reworking of Twelfth Night, featuring a cast of mostly dogs. Of course, things don't quite go to plan in a turn of events that could threaten Toast's very career. Last in the current series.

Toast Of London Series 3, Episode 6 preview

Matt Berry's Steven Toast manages to annoy Jude Law, Martin Freeman and other top actors in the final episode of Series 3.

Ben Dowell, Radio Times, 23rd December 2015

Radio Times review

It's business as usual for the final episode, which is to say moments of brilliance and stretches that go a bit tepid. But that's the deal with Toast: you put up with the iffy bits for the occasional dash of comic glory you wouldn't find anywhere else.

Our luckless curmudgeon gets a job at the Globe in a production of Twelfth Night by radical director Daz Klondyke. It's to be performed by a cast of dogs as "a metaphor for what's happening in Syria". Yes, it's daft, but if you want an idea of the series' celebrity fans, look out for cameos from Jude Law, Martin Freeman, Sheila Hancock and others. They're all basically agreeing that Toast is, as Sam Mendes puts it, "a colossal t**t".
