I've never seen Coogan better or Partridge funnier
I don't think I've ever seen Coogan better or Partridge funnier. The character is more rounded and involving but still endearingly silly and oh-God-did-he-really-just-say-that?
James Delingpole, The Spectator, 3rd March 2019Review: This Time with Alan Partridge
This Partridge was only lukewarm as I said at the top, whereas I always prefer mine steaming hot.
Telly Binge, 1st March 2019For once the host really was painfully unfunny
Whereas the likes of I'm Alan Partridge, The Day Today, and Mid Morning Matters were gently subversive, there was something horribly cosy about planting him in a genre like The One Show. As parodies go, you could tell This Time with Alan Partridge was not nearly savage enough because it could easily have been screened at 7pm like the programme it was supposedly satirising, not two and a half hours later.
Jim Shelley, Daily Mail, 26th February 2019Monstrously vain maybe... but we can't help loving Alan
We shrivel inside to watch him ... and know that later, when his brain catches up, he'll be shrivelling too.
Christopher Stevens, Daily Mail, 26th February 2019This Time With Alan Partridge review
Not big, not clever, but funny as f***.
Keith Watson, Metro, 26th February 2019This Time with Alan Partridge review
Steve Coogan and the show's writers, Neil and Rob Gibbons, have summoned up another perfect reimagining of 'the Partridge'
Chris Bennion, The Times, 26th February 2019A sublimely excruciating return for Alan Partridge
This Time is a terrific title for the BBC-comeback show of Steve Coogan's magnificent comic creation, Alan Partridge. Gently mocking the sort of meaningless names given to "magazine" shows on telly, it also reeks of that most Partridgean of qualities: desperation.
Mark Monahan, The Telegraph, 26th February 2019Fans review the return of Alan Partridge
Can Alan still cut it in 2019, or did he fluck it up? Here are your verdicts on This Time With Alan Partridge.
The Guardian, 26th February 2019Review: 'This Time with Alan Partridge' is a triumph
Even when Alan's keeping his mouth shut, there are plenty of laughs to be had from his forced smiles and the look of absolute terror in his eyes at being on live TV. Not to mention the silent fury on his face when his co-host steals a joke he said off-air.

Twin brothers Neil and Rob Gibbons speak to Ed Cumming about plunging the legendary Norwich presenter into the woke waters of 2019 broadcasting.
