This Time With Alan Partridge review
This Time With Alan Partridge (BBC One, Friday) returned for a second series, with our man in the smart-casual slacks thriving in a nightly live show/pile of piffle that's not a million miles away from The One Show. He should be delighted, but this is Alan P, with the P standing for Paranoid. He has sniffed the air and suspects change is coming. And it is not wearing driving gloves.
Alison Rowat, The Herald, 1st May 2021This Time With Alan Partridge review
Having originally been the joint effort of Steve Coogan and Armando Iannucci, Partridge is today written by the brothers Rob and Neil Gibbons. They're brilliant at it, but it does still very slightly have the feel of a tribute act.
Hugo Rifkind, The Times, 1st May 2021Is This Time's Partridge the best Alan Partridge?
OK, maybe not the absolute best. But like a fine wine (one Alan would - can we shock you? - actually like very much), Steve Coogan's creation has improved with age, as he becomes more and more outdated.
Thomas Barrie, GQ, 30th April 2021This Time With Alan Partridge review
It's not exactly the most relaxing comedy to watch, but there are comic gems in the rich feast of awfulness.
Steve Bennett, Chortle, 30th April 2021This Time With Alan Partridge review
Welcome back, excruciating agony!
Lucy Mangan, The Guardian, 30th April 2021This Time With Alan Partridge review
Finally, some agonising TV worth watching.
Rachael Sigee, i Newspaper, 30th April 2021This Time With Alan Partridge review
Still an exquisite send up - but with a little too much Coogan.
Anita Singh, The Telegraph, 30th April 2021This Time With Alan Partridge review
Another triumph of awkwardness for North Norfolk's iconic digital DJ as modern mores threaten to topple this king of chat.
Brian Donaldson, The List, 30th April 2021Lolly Adefope interview
'I'm not here to be an activist. I'm here to make people laugh'. The comedian and actress on Alan Partridge, comedy's problem with diversity, body positivity and texting Steve Buscemi.
Alice Jones, i Newspaper, 29th April 2021Susannah Fielding interview
It takes an actress with impeccable comedic timing and a distinct knack for realism in drama to play a TV morning show host - Susannah Fielding does more than fit the bill.
