In an attempt to help an overly stoic patient, he butts heads with an obnoxious colleague. Adam takes a big gamble. If he's right, he'll have saved the patient's ovary (and her life), but if he's wrong, his career is probably over.

Just when it seems that things are on the up, Adam learns that he is in more trouble than he'd feared. At home, Harry attempts to heal rifts in their personal life, but Adam isn't in the mood.
