The Vital Spark

The four episodes of The Vital Spark in this DVD are the last surviving of the seven episodes produced in 1973 and 1974: a special, and half of the final, third series. Only one episode from Series 1 and 2 remains in the BBC's archive.

However, these four stories from 1973 and 1974, filmed in colour around Glasgow and the Clyde, display the best of Scottish writing, humour and comedy acting.

As well as the four regulars - Roddy McMillan, Walter Carr, John Grieve and Alex McAvoy - the episodes include guest stars Fulton Mackay in The Wedding, Phil McCall in A Drop O'The Real Stuff, Russell Hunter in The Quarrel and Joseph Brady in Bad Luck Cargo.

Pour yourself 'a drop o'the real stuff', sit back and embark on a voyage of fun with The Vital Spark!

Not in the UK?

Fear not! Many items can still be ordered. Amazon in the UK delivers to many international territories, whilst their Australia, USA and Canada stores also supply many equivalent or imported items.

If you are in the North America, look out for US/Canadian flag icons on popular product listings for direct links.

If you order from a UK store, please note that the UK is in Region 2 and B, respectively, for DVDs and Blu-rays - check your player's compatibility, or look for multi-region products if you are located in another region.

If you are in Australia or New Zealand (DVD Region 4), note that almost all DVDs distributed in the UK by the BBC and 2entertain are encoded for both Region 2 and Region 4. The UK and Australasia are in the same Blu-ray region (B).
