Homage to the outrageous and much-missed comedian whose throwaway one-liners and catchphrases hid the troubled soul of a man who always wanted to be a serious actor. Colleague June Whitfield recalls Frankie "hated what he did", but repeatedly relaunched his mirth-making career from Fifties radio comic to starring roles in Carry On films, Up Pompeii! and West End musicals, all the while tortured by nerves, neuroses and guilt about his homosexuality. With contributions from Bruce Forsyth and Eric Sykes.
