Para Handy (BBC1) is a perfectly pleasant period piece but I wonder if there's something I should understand about the style of acting? No lip is unpursed. No jaw undropped. No eye unpopped. This is the last happy home of the tossed head, the broad wink and the gulp. Is this something they do in Scotland?
