The Other 'Arf - The Complete Second Series
Class distinction has never stopped Cinderella from meeting her Prince, and the universal appeal of rich-man-falling-for-working-class-girl is the theme of this hit comedy series developed by legendary screenwriters Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais (Porridge).
Starring Lorraine Chase and John Standing as a couple whose romance brings social barriers crashing to the ground, The Other 'Arf was conceived by Terence Howard, who had worked on the celebrated Campari ad campaign which launched the TV career of Lorraine Chase.
This second series finds Cockney model Lorraine with fading prospects of Tory MP Charles ever proposing marriage particularly with his aristocratic fiancee Sybilla (Patricia Hodge) still very much on the scene. So, displaying a greater spirit of independence, she decides to move far enough out of town to avoid being always at Charles' beck and call; a little reminder that she s still a free agent.
Also included in this set is the Christmas Special of 1981, Away From It All, which sees Charles planning a very special surprise for the lovely Lorraine...
