After a decade with the BBC where they topped the ratings year after year and attracted the very biggest names in international entertainment, Morecambe & Wise shocked the TV world when they departed for ITV broadcaster Thames Television in 1978.

Enticed by the company's offer of helping them make new feature films - a dream that would come to a premature end with Eric's untimely death just 6 years later - the duo took their much-loved mix of sketch, song, celebrity guests and all-round silliness to the commercial broadcaster, making more than 30 programmes including a range of similarly popular Christmas specials.

More than 40 years after that move, and with many episodes unseen since their original broadcasts in the early 1980s, the complete Thames collection has now been released on DVD.

Packing in guests such as Peter Bowles, Hannah Gordon, Glenda Jackson, Alvin Stardust, Donald Sinden and Derek Jacobi, these programmes may not be as celebrated as Eric & Ernie's work with the BBC, but they remain brilliantly funny.

Released on 29th November 2021 by Network, the glorious 6-disc box set Morecambe & Wise At Thames is now available to buy.
