Plantagenet Evans

Photographer.   Played by: Ronnie Barker

Plantagenet Evans is an honest yet tactless photographer who unintentionally offends most of the people whom he meets. He considers himself to be an artist and photographic genius, however is neither of these things.

He is happily in a relationship with Rachel but refuses all of her attempts to drag him down the aisle.

Rachel is the fiancee and employee of Plantagenet. She is worried about her reputation as an unmarried woman living with a man and is keen to marry Evans as soon as possible.

Willie

Odd-job man.   Played by: Dickie Arnold

Willie is an uneducated odd-job man who works for Plantagenet. He is being tutored by his employer and silently, and incompetently, performs all the tasks that are asked of him.

Bron

Played by: Myfanwy Talog

Bron is Rachel's sister and is married to Probert. She is religious and disapproves of Rachel's relationship with her employer because of the damage it will do to the family's reputation. Secretly however she longs for some excitement in her mundane life.
