Out-of-work, machinist Lionel Hogg is forced to take a live-in position as caretaker, cleaner and all-round handyman at an exclusive weight loss clinic in a country house. As a member of staff rather than a patient he is at least allowed to leave the premises, but has few other freedoms.
After sneaking a pack of sausages in to cook over the boiler's fire, the smell spreads through the building's ventilation system and soon Lionel finds himself confronted with a new range of challenges - and opportunities!
