Review: The End of the F***ing World

This series manages to hold onto everything that made the first such a breakout hit whilst also feeling fresh and exciting. I just hope this time it gets the credit it is so richly deserving of.

Alex Lawther and Jessica Barden interview

Lawther and Barden both dropped by the JOE studios to talk about the return of The End of the F***ing World - which was only the second-ever interview they had done together.

Wil Jones, JOE, 5th November 2019

A confident, even audacious opening to season two of this pitch-black comedy-drama. Via an entire episode dedicated to another character (Naomi Ackie's blank yet somehow remarkably expressive Bonnie), we are filled in on a whole new strand of relevant backstory and yet, deliciously, hardly any the wiser about where the series might be going. It is a beautifully observed little tale that pulls off the admirable trick of being desperately bleak while remaining very funny indeed.

Phil Harrison, The Guardian, 4th November 2019
