Kim Cattrall was initially announced in the role of Melissa, but the following statement was later released: "UKTV are pleased to welcome Sarah Parish to the cast of Gold's upcoming new sitcom The Cockfields. Parish replaces the previously announced Kim Cattrall, who is no longer available due to some unforeseen scheduling issues."
