Joyce Hazledine

Played by: Amelia Bullmore

Joyce Hazeldine is the unwitting and naïve newcomer to Little Stempington. She thought she was moving to a nice quiet town - how wrong she was! There are probably more firearms in Little Stempington than in the military's armoury.

At first Joyce is not very brave and so is pushed around by the gangs, finding herself in awkward situations as a result. However she soon learns to stand up to the villainous Camilla and by the end of the French incursion, she has managed to learn enough to threaten Camilla with exposure.

When Barbara ends up going to prison after being framed by Camilla, Joyce finds herself unexpectedly coerced into taking charge of the 'good' gang. At first not everyone is happy with the decision however Joyce soon proves herself to be a worthy leader.

Camilla Diamond

Played by: Anna Chancellor

Camilla Diamond runs an organised crime gang that operates in Little Stempington. Her gang's operations include extortion, racketeering, prostitution, drug dealing, illegal gambling, kidnapping, blackmail and much more!

Originally a very good friend with Barbara Du Prez, the two formed the original singular mafia after a spree of burglaries in their neighbourhood. When Camilla saw what the gang could achieve she soon grew greedy and started to use the group's increased power for her own personal gain causing the group to spilt down the middle. As a result she has since become Barbara's deadly rival.

Barbara Du Prez

Played by: Felicity Montagu

The original leader of the 'good' gang. Supremely confident and quite surly, Barbara is an exemplary member of the community who will stop at nothing to defend her village from the power-crazed Camilla.

Although carrying a gun is an unpleasant necessity for Barbara she's not afraid to get her hands bloody - she can pistol-whip a teenager without creasing her silk blouse!

After having been framed by Camilla, Barbara is now locked up in prison. Her cell mate initially thought she could walk all over Barbara because she was 'posh' however Barbara soon corrected her view-point! Barbara is now looked up-to within the prison community.

Hilary Davenport

Played by: Rachael Blake

Hilary is Camilla's attractive second-in-command.

She is extremely vain and gets involved in organised crime to help pay for her next plastic surgery operation.

Hilary's looks are quite deceiving, she is cold and nasty with a very vicious streak inside her. This is another reason why she is in Camilla's gang - she enjoys the opportunities to cause pain and destruction.

Pam Draper

Played by: Lucy Robinson

Pam's ability to handle semi-automatic pistols with lethal accuracy made her the perfect deputy for Barbara.

Pam is probably the poshest member of the 'good' gang - she can always be seen in a clean and pressed suit, even when the gang is doing something decidedly dirty.

Pam has very little actual compassion for the people she combats - she has even threatened to castrate a man if he didn't start speaking the Queen's English!

When Joyce takes over the leadership of the gang, Pam is quite upset - she has clearly been harbouring a desire to be leader herself. She soon overcomes this though and accepts Joyce as the new leader.

When Pam pretended to want to join Camilla's gang she showed how brave she could be by taking part in a game of Russian roulette to 'prove herself'. Unfortunately her cover was quickly blown after that and Pam now has a rather naughty tattoo on her back as a result.

Lillian Gordon-Moore

Played by: Emma Kennedy

Lillian is Little Stempington's slightly demented assassin. She gets a kick from high-powered weapons.

A ruthless, bordering on psychotic, gun lover, Lillian has killed more times than she's had facials. Her violent streak makes her indispensable to Camilla.

A definite tomboy with an un-usual dress sense, it seems Lillian might actually have a secret crush on Joyce.

Margaret Littlefair

Played by: Cathryn Bradshaw

Margaret is fearless and incredibly loyal to the 'good' gang. The only problem is her scattiness and her poor shooting record which let her down.

Margaret is the gang's explosives expert - she seems to know a lot about making things explode - it's a bit of a worrying skill for someone who doesn't always seem to be quite with it.

She currently seems to be having marital difficulties at home and so is on the look out for a new man.

Jeremy Hazledine

Played by: Ralph Ineson

Jeremy is the hapless police chief of Little Stempington and the surrounding area. Itching to find a stress-free life he recently moved away from the high crime rate of the big city with his wife Joyce.

Jeremy thinks the area's low crime rate is down to his team's good policing - if he stopped to think about it though he'd realise the police force in Little Stempington don't do anything. It's actually his wife's gang, which he knows nothing about, which is keeping the streets clean of anti-social behaviour.

Despite the fact he is completely oblivious to the gang warfare raging on his patch, Jeremy still thinks he's Sherlock Holmes.

Jewel Diamond

Played by: Ruth Wilson

Jewel is Camila's seductive daughter.

At first Jewel finds Little Stempington boring, dull and full of old people. That is until the Hazledines - Bill Hazledine to be exact - arrive on the scene. Jewel makes it her mission to seduce the sun kissed Bill but by doing so becomes unwittingly embroiled in her mother's underhand shenanigans. Then life for Jewel suddenly becomes rather exciting as she juggles guns, drugs, money and exploding cars!

In the later episodes Bill has left for University so Jewel is once again left in Little Stempington lonely and at a loss - life soon seems to spiral out of control. She feels no-one wants her. Her Mum has more important fish to fry and after a shambolic audition the acting career is doomed. Close to ending it all, the only man who can pull her back from the edge is none other than Bill Hazledine.

Bill Hazledine

Played by: Tom Hiddleston

Bill is Joyce's gentle romantic son.

When he arrives in Little Stempington to visit his parents it isn't long before Jewel makes him her boyfriend.
