Stage Door Johnny: A person who frequents stage doors for the company of actors.

Stage Door Johnnies pokes gentle fun at fandom, filmed in a 'mockumentary' style.

When a production of Romeo and Juliet starring Suranne Jones and John Nettles arrives at a Guildford theatre, five excitable local enthusiasts take their positions at the stage door. Marco, an amateur critic, likes to give actors constructive feedback on their performances, while Tony is a dab hand at making gifts from unusual materials for the great and the good of the theatre world.

Then there's Susan and Meg, John Nettles' number one fans who must remain 50 metres away from the actor at all times; and Ralph, the quiet observer of the group.

The quintet will stop at nothing to get close to the stars who tread the boards, even if it means causing accidental injuries along the way.
