Yetta Feldman

AKA: Auntie Yetta.  Played by: Miriam Karlin

Yetta Feldman choked on a chicken bone and died in the kitchen of 7, Meadow Road in 1972. She was 64 at the time of death, and is unable to pass on as she had not seen her daughter in a number of years. "Carole - with an 'e'" had run off with a pop star, Jackson Dawlish of Jack Daw and the Sparrows.

Peter Rokeby

AKA: Pete.  Played by: George Costigan

Pete's a talented but overworked ad man. Despite a glowing track record, he takes redundancy when recession hits his company and decides to set up on his own. He's determined to show that his best years are not behind him, but can he work in a house packed with family - and a ghost?

Sally Rokeby

A stressed mother of two (and eventually three), Sally takes on a full-time job as housewife and mother, but somehow manages to fit in a series of DIY projects, odd jobs, and eventually takes up marriage guidance counselling! She's short-tempered, opinionated, judgmental and condescending - but that's why Pete loves her.

Tammy's a typical teenage girl. Rarely to be found disconnected from a telephone, her life revolves around her school friends, boys, and the occasional bit of homework and exam revision. Will her mother's domineering nature cause Tammy to rebel?

David Rokeby

Reaching the grand old age of 9 by the end of the series, David is the youngest of the Rokebys. He forges a special bond with his 'Auntie Yetta' from the off, quickly picking up her typically Jewish terms, exclamations and mannerisms. Oy!
