Kelly takes guardianship of her 15 year old half sister Tonya, when left homeless and needing help to get her baby boy out of care.

In a meeting with Tonya's social worker Julie, conditions are set that custody will only be considered if Tonya proves she is responsible by looking after a 'simulation' baby. Soon the unruly teen leaves Micky holding the plastic baby but his best paternal attempts to help are scuppered by her bad attitude. When Micky confronts Tonya, a dark secret from her and Kelly's past is accidentally exposed, forcing Micky to make a painful decision.
