Boycie decides his staff need to work harder and vows to sack the next employee he catches slacking. Mrs Cakeworthy is the first out the door, but she soon has her boss regretting her decision when the Londoner learns she is a witch. Elsewhere, Tyler has his own problems - he is traumatised by the school art class.

Ted Bovis's ex-wife turns up at the camp demanding the arrears of her maintenance. She has in tow a bailiff who presents Ted with a writ. Failure to pay could result in prison, so Ted is forced to resort to all the fiddles he can remember in order to raise the money.

The platoon replace the resident guards at Walmington's local prison-of-war camp. The fact that the camp is full of Italians instead of Germans makes the job less appealing, but things become more interesting when it is suspected that Walker is helping the prisoners to escape.
