Bolstered by her success on the stock market, Lucia embarks on a series of charitable works in Tilling, which in turn garners her much favourable press coverage and leads to her being offered a seat on the town council. Mapp is not amused, not least as she and Benjy find themselves flooded out at Grebe and are forced to seek refuge at Mallards with Lucia.
