Bertie's tranquil existence is shattered by an unusual chain of events; the invasion of his flat by some Communist chaps, a demand from Aunt Dahlia that he turn gentleman burglar and steal a painting, and the malevolent Roderick Spode brandishing a vase. In the face of such problems, only the comforting presence of the imperturbable Jeeves is preventing Bertie from going gaga.
