It's Christmas Eve, the boys are leaving for home, and Edwards and Pettigrew are looking forward to a fortnight skiing. Then the doctor arrives with some very bad news: one of the boys has developed measles, and so to avoid spreading the disease, everyone who's not contracted it before must stay quarantined in the building.
