The spin-offs and remakes of Dad's Army
It's unlikely to have escaped any Dad's Army fan's attention that all three of the lost episodes are being remade for UK Gold. But then, Dad's Army is no stranger to remakes and spin offs, so let's have a look at them now...
Rhianna Evans, Super Ink, 24th August 2019Romany Jones is no Yus, My Dear because it does have redeeming features. James Beck is likeable (if one-note), as Bert Jones, but by far the best performer is Jo Rowbottom as Betty. Bert and Betty are the Jonathan and Jennifer Hart of the caravan site. Barely a moment goes by where they're not at it like knives and the performances and chemistry are good enough to make this believable.
John Williams, Tachyon TV, 19th January 2012Romany Jones seems to me the most offensively bad programme that has been perpetrated on an old lady with a poor leg who couldn't get up to switch off.
