Eureka!: Reggie Perrin

Executive producer Ben Farrell on why the '70s sitcom was ripe for a 21st-century makeover.

Ben Farrell, Broadcast, 23rd April 2009

Dead on revival

Dated and unfunny, this is one remake of a classic Seventies sitcom too far. I suspected it would be bad, and I was right. It is. Reggie Perrin, a remake of The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin, is pointless and unfunny, and it captures the zeitgeist - if you believe in a thing like the zeitgeist - not at all. It's as if The Office had never been made.

Rachel Cooke, The New Statesman, 23rd April 2009

Gill Hornby, The Telegraph, 20th April 2009

David Nobbs, Daily Mail, 19th April 2009

James Rampton, The Times, 15th April 2009

The actor's wild, shag-pad days are gone: now it's pony club, a remake of Reggie Perrin and dad behaving nicely in the Dorset countryside.

Camilla Long, The Sunday Times, 12th April 2009

Martin Clunes Interview

Martin Clunes says his own life could not be more different from the unhappy salesman desperate to escape his dull life.

Emma Cox, The Sun, 11th April 2009
