Series V, Episode 4 - Quarantine
On encountering another ship, the crew go into rescue the female hologram on board. Much to their horror, they discover that she has contracted a holo virus, and has gone completely insane.

When back on board, Rimmer cruelly puts Lister, Cat and Kryten into quarantine for a long time and watches with glee as they go mad in the captivity. Unfortunately, none of them could have known that Rimmer himself would contract the holo virus.
