In an alternate universe, we see another Arnold Rimmer. He's a test pilot in the Space Corps, and is more fondly named "Ace".

When Red Dwarf collides with Ace's space ship, leaving them stranded in a storm, he bravely goes into save them and repair the Cat's broken leg. We also meet Cat's, Holly's, Lister's and Kryten's alternative personalities in his universe. Lister is known as "Spanners", Cat is a Jamaican "Padre", Holly is "Melly" and Kryten is "Bongo".
