Having believed Rimmer's planned schedule of duties rather than his self-obsessed actions, Lister goes up to the Officer's Deck before it's de-contaminated and ends up contacting a mutated pneumonia virus.

It's not long before he's suffering with fevered hallucinations - only after a 3 million year evolution, this visions in this sickness appear in solid form!

After a bout of herring rain in the sleeping quarters, the Mayor of Warsaw spontaneously combusting in the hallway, Lister's amazed to find physical manifestations of his personality - specifically his confidence and his paranoia - sitting in the drive room!

Rimmer points out to Lister that Confidence and Paranoia are only side effects of the virus, but when Confidence smashes up the medical unit, trouble really begins to brew.
