Peep Show trivia

The logo for each series of Peep Show is a different colour. See the Shop page for all the colour variations.

The writers wrote Super Hans with Danny Dyer in mind. Russell Brand auditioned for the character before he became famous. In the end the part went to Matt King. Speaking about Brand, David Mitchell said: "He was almost in it. But I bet he would be a handful now."

Sam Bain has revealed the show's title was inspired by a comic book. The pilot was called POV (Point Of View), but changed its name before broadcast. "We sort of nicked it from a comic book," he admitted, adding quickly: "I've talked to the guy who created the comic ... it's fine, we're not going to get sued."

The writers and stars don't like it when people incorrectly title the programme The Peep Show. David Mitchell explains: "That makes it sound like it's a sitcom about an actual peep show." The show's first sponsor, Kenco, made that mistake. The writers finally got their revenge in the first episode of the final series, in which Mark says: "I'll just go and get a cup of the Kenco".
