Cabbage and Pat take an adult education course in butchery, imagining it as the ideal place to meet men and get away from their families. Meanwhile, it's the anniversary of Pat's husband's death.

Cabbage and Pat go to a butchery class to meet single men, but the only male there is the teacher, Terry. Cabbage sets her sights on Terry but faces competition from the overly flirtatious Judy.
When Pat does not show up for Derek's memorial service, Helen stages an intervention to keep Cabbage and Pat apart.
Meanwhile, Nicola is not the only one in awe of Dylan.
