Series 4, Episode 5 - Sleeping Dogs Lie

When Boycie and Marlene fly off on holiday, Del and Rodney assume the mantle of dog-sitters. Rodney's convinced that Albert's brought his run of bad luck to the flat when 'little' Dukey appears comatose; what'll Marlene say if they've killed her beloved dog?

Further details

In an attempt to earn an easy £60 a week, Del persuades Boycie and Marlene to entrust him with the care of their dog, Duke, while they are away on holiday. He's more than a little shocked to discover that the puppy he was expecting is in fact a domineering Great Dane with a better diet than he has!

Whilst out on a walk, Rodney notices that the dog is a bit sluggish, and they decide to take it to the vet. Del and Rodney think that the dog may have eaten some reheated pork leftovers for breakfast, and they're quickly informed that Duke has probably got salmonella poisoning.

Much to their horror, the brothers discover that Albert's had the other half of the pork, and rush him to hospital. However, neither vet nor doctor can find anything wrong with their respective patients.

After a couple of days with no ill-effects occurring, Albert's discharged. When clearing out his effects, the doctor instructs Del not to let Albert bring any of his own medication into the hospital in future - inspecting the bottle, Rodney and Del Boy realise that they've managed to swap Duke's vitamin tablets and Albert's sleeping pills!
