Inside No. 9 creators Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton picked up the trophy for comedy writing at the BAFTA Craft Awards 2025.

The duo were presented with the award by Rosie Cavaliero and Sian Gibson, both of whom have appeared in the BBC Two comic anthology series.

In their acceptance speech, the League Of Gentlemen stars said: "To still be doing things and being recognised ten years later for Inside No. 9 is amazing."

The other nominees in the category were Brett Goldstein for Shrinking, Phil Dunning for Smoggie Queens and Nida Manzoor for We Are Lady Parts.

Inside No. 9 came to an end last year after nine series, however Shearsmith and Pemberton have moved on to starring in a stage version. Stage/Fright has just finished in the West End and is now set to head on a UK tour.

Elsewhere in last night's BAFTA Craft Awards ceremony, the production team behind Taskmaster won the Entertainment Craft Team award:

And Lucia Keskin was announced as the winner in the 'Emerging Talent: Fiction' category for writing Things You Should Have Done. Her producer Ash Atalla picked up the prize on her behalf, as she was busy filming the next series.

Other winners included the composers of Bad Sisters and the studio behind the graphic identity of Sweetpea. Richard Gadd picked up the drama writing prize for Baby Reindeer. A full list of results can be found on the BAFTA website

The BAFTA TV Awards 2025 - which feature nominees including Alma's Not Normal, Brassic, G'wed and Ludwig - are on Sunday 11th May.
