Mrs Brown's Boys to return to BBC One for Series 5

Mrs Brown's Boys is set to return to BBC One for another series.
The sitcom, written by and starring Brendan O'Carroll, has been broadcasting festive specials annually since 2011, however this will be a fifth series of the comedy, set to be broadcast outside of the Christmas period. The show's last non-festive four-episode run - Series 4 - was broadcast in September 2023.
The new episodes will be recorded in front of audiences in BBC Scotland's Pacific Quay studios, located in Glasgow, in May. There will be recordings on Thursday 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd May, with each day having an afternoon and evening recording. Free tickets
The BBC says: "Agnes Brown and the gang from Finglas are back! Everyone's favourite Irish Mammy returns for a brand new fifth series featuring all your favourite characters, so get ready for more slapstick shenanigans this spring!"
The 2024 Christmas Day special from Mrs Brown's Boys was one of the top 10 most watched British TV comedies of the year, with 7-day consolidated ratings data revealing an audience of 3.88m.
The new Series 5 will be broadcast on BBC One later in the year.
