Iain Stirling is to host a new Comedy Central show about the worst things on the Internet, British Comedy Guide can exclusively reveal.

In Iain Stirling's Roast The Internet, the stand-up and Twitch streamer will be joined by three famous guests, drawn from a pool of fellow comedians, online celebrities and TV personalities, to mock some of the most dreadful online content that they're allowed to legally discuss on broadcast television.

Filming shortly to air later this year, eight hour-long episodes of the studio comedy have been commissioned.

"I'm so excited to be involved in this project which allows me to collaborate with some of my favourite people in TV (and the Internet) and lets me doom-scroll TikTok while calling it work!" Stirling told BCG.

Sharing their personal online bugbears, he and his guests will be "offering up some ingenious and hilarious solutions to the dumpster fire that is the online world ... taking the Internet down a peg or two, while all also secretly hoping their best bits will go viral."

Guests for Roast The Internet have yet to be announced. However, Stirling shot a non-broadcast pilot late last year featuring fellow stand-ups Maisie Adam and Desiree Burch, as well as tech comic Mat Ewins.

Stirling, the voice of dating show Love Island, has also recently been roasting romantic profiles, asking his social media followers for help making a mini-series for his Instagram and TikTok, "reviewing people's Hinge profiles".

He posted: "So if you don't mind me lightly roasting your page please DM me screen shots of your Hinge profile and you might get used in the video. Or tag a mate in the comments below if you think they need my help!"

Iain Stirling's Roast The Internet is the first UK television comedy commission for MTV Entertainment Studios since archive clip show Most Ridiculous began in 2016 on Comedy Central, featuring voiceovers from the likes of Adam, Katherine Ryan and Darren Harriott. Commissioned by Luke Hales and Iestyn Barker for Comedy Central UK, the executive producers are Barker and Luke Shiach.

"The internet is a chaotic, ridiculous place, and who better to make sense of it all for us than Iain Stirling?" said Hales

"With his unique comedy voice at the heart of the show and a brilliant line-up of guests, this series is packed with laughs - a real treat for our audiences on Comedy Central UK."

Stirling continues his Relevant stand-up tour at the Oxford Playhouse tonight.
