  • Romesh hosts the comedy quiz format alongside his mother keeping score
  • It sees celebrity parents-and-children competing against each other in aid of charity

Romesh Ranganathan's Parents' Evening is heading back to ITV1.

The comedy, in which three celebrity parent-child duos play against each other to win money for charity, debuted as a three-part series in November 2024.

Six further hour-long programmes have now been ordered, and are expected to broadcast later this year.

The format sees the parent in each pairing bid against the other teams for how many answers on a given topic they think their offspring may be able to get right, before the son or daughter is put to the test.

Romesh hosts the show, with his own mother and regular on-screen collaborator Shanthi attempting to keep score.

Romesh Ranganathan says: "When I started comedy, my dream was always to keep my mum in regular employment. ITV have helped make this dream come true. I'm excited for her to steal the show again and for people to message me saying she should be hosting."

Benjamin Green, executive producer and co-founder of production company Ranga Bee, says: "We are so delighted to be making another series of Parents' Evening, and we're especially thankful to ITV for allowing Romesh to be a part of Shanthi's show."
