The other television category - Best TV Comic - sees Bob Mortimer, Chris McCausland, Jamali Maddix, Rosie Jones and Sophie Willan in the running.

Nominees for the annual awards, now in their 26th year, are being announced across the day on the Chortle website.

The nominees for each category were chosen by a panel of industry experts and will be put to a public vote this afternoon once all categories and nominees have been announced. Polls close on Friday next week and the winners will be unveiled at a London ceremony on 13th March.

Last year's victors included Taskmaster (Best TV Show), Joe Lycett for Best TV Comedian, James Acaster's Hecklers Welcome for Best Tour and Kiri Pritchard-McLean for both Best Club Comedian and Best Compere.
