LGBTQ+ focused streaming service OUTflix is to air five stand-up specials.
The shows will launch on the platform this May under the title Stand Up Specials London.
James Barr, Heleana Blackwell, David Ian, Kat Nip and Vix Leyton have each recorded a 45 minute set at The Queer Comedy Club for the series.
OUTtv is new name for Froot.tv. The service launched in the UK and Ireland in 2020, but has been rebranded this month. Last year the platform published Live At The Queer Comedy Club, a six-part showcase series hosted by David Ian, Kate Dale and Jeremy Topp.
The shows have been filmed by Milli Productions, and a new special will be made available on the platform each week across five weeks, starting in May.
Talking to British Comedy Guide, the producers say: "Milli Productions loves to work with queer comedians, and filming Stand Up Specials London was an amazing opportunity to showcase some incredible comedians from our community in the home of LGBTQ+ stand-up comedy in London, The Queer Comedy Club. All the shows are different and make for a really varied mix of subjects and takes, and we can't wait for audiences to see what this stellar bunch of comedians has in store for them!"
OUTflix is available at OUTflix.com for £2.99/month with a free 7-day trial. The service is also available for iOS, tvOS and Android devices.
Talking about the channel's expansion into Europe, OUTtv CEO Brad Danks says: "OUTtv has always been a trailblazing platform, recognising that queer audiences and allies are a significant segment of the viewer population and offering them both original and acquired content - ranging from overlooked stories from the past like Some Girls Hate Dresses, to bubbly and authentic dating series like Stormy Daniels-fronted For The Love Of DILFS. We are unifying the brand as we expand across Europe and beyond, so we're thrilled to be launching OUTflix alongside our partnership with Allente across the Nordics - and look forward to many more viewers discovering the treasure trove of LGBTQI+ content we continue to grow."
