Diane Morgan has confirmed that BBC sitcom Motherland will not be returning for another series.
Asked via an interview in The Times whether the hit comedy had ended, Moran replied in the affirmative, adding "I hate to say it, because I still get women running up to me with prams in the street asking me when it's coming back."
Motherland - which also stars Anna Maxwell Martin, Diane Morgan, Paul Ready, Lucy Punch, Philippa Dunne and Tanya Moodie - launched as a pilot in 2016. It has since run for three series, with the most recent episode being the 2022 Christmas special.
However, Morgan - who played Liz in the show's 20 episodes - did hint in the same interview that a spin-off featuring Lucy Punch's character Amanda is currently being considered. "It'll live on through her. The ladies with the prams will be pleased, hopefully."
Morgan was talking to The Times to promote Mandy, her sitcom which returns to BBC Two for a third series tonight (Wednesday 27th March).
