ITV has ordered The Chris McCausland Show, an 11 part series for its Saturday morning schedule.
The chat show format will see the blind comedian "immerse his guests in his audio world, with live acoustic performances". The episodes will also feature "interactive games with viewers playing along at home".
The new show is being made by Saturday Kitchen producers Cactus TV.
Writing on social media about the new commission, he said: "I am delighted to announce that I will be taking over the ITV Saturday morning breakfast slot for 11 weeks over the summer. I am really excited about this, although I can't do autocue and I don't know where the cameras are. What can possibly go wrong?".
McCausland is currently on tour with his stand-up show Yonks!. He's also been commissioned to make another series of his Radio 4 panel show You Heard It Here First.
ITV1 has also ordered Jimmy And Shivi's Farmhouse Breakfast, hosted by Jimmy Doherty and Shivi Ramotaur, for Saturday mornings; and another series of Katie Piper's Breakfast Show.
Commissioner Katie Rawcliffe comments: "Our new weekend morning line ups on ITV provide a mix of brand new formats and talent, plus a returning favourite. Away from the studio, Jimmy And Shivi's Farmhouse Breakfast will provide a wholesome start to your weekend mornings; we're excited to welcome the funny talents of Chris McCausland with his brand new chat show; and we're delighted to welcome back Katie Piper now across both Saturday and Sunday mornings. Your weekends start with us on ITV."
Amanda Ross from Cactus TV says: "I couldn't be happier to be able to showcase the brilliant talents of Chris McCausland! He's brought so much to every show we've done with him, so we can't wait to put him centre stage for 11 weeks of fun and live music."
